Licensing and Registering

Licensing

HeadsUp works as a subscription service. There are monthly and yearly tiers. The yearly tier is equivalent to the monthly tier, except you get 2 months for free.

You can manage your current subscription via your account page. Here you can see your next payment date and how much you will be charged. You will always be notified 3 days in advance before processing any payments. In order to guarantee uninterrupted access to HeadsUp, you should keep your subscription set to Auto Renew.

If for whatever reason you want to temporarily halt your subscription, you can simply toggle off Auto Renew via your account and your license will expire automatically after the payment date has passed. When you are ready to pick things up again, just renew via your account and everything will be right as you left it.

If you want to completely cancel your subscription, just cancel it via your account before the next payment date. No further payments will be processed and your license will expire automatically. If you feel that you’ve been unfairly charged for whatever reason, get in touch and we’ll work things out. We believe in making money by creating an awesome product that people love using, not in making a quick buck of someone who didn’t read the small print.

Registering

After buying a license, you register your computer by entering the email and password of your hybridconstructs.com account in the Registration tab.

At this point, you’ll also want to give this computer a memorable name. This will help with recognizing it when unregistering online.

Backup

A HeadsUp license can be installed on one machine and one backup machine. We’re not going to check if you’re really keeping the second one for backup, but we’re also not going to be sympathetic when you’re running two shows of one license, and one of the machines starts bluescreening right before show.

Each additional license can be installed on one more additional machine. So 1 license can be installed on 2 computers, 2 licenses on 3 computers, 3 licenses on 4 computers, etc etc. Once I start with counting, it’s very hard to stop. I could count forever, count until I drop!

Unregistering

If you no longer need to use your license on a specific computer, you can Unregister the same way as you registered.

If the computer is no longer accessible because it was lost, stolen or damaged, you can also unregister it online via your account page. Simply hit the Unregister button on the right of the computer you want to remove and the seat will be available again right away.

Phone Home

HeadsUp requires an active Internet connection once every 30 days to make sure everything is still in order with your license and subscription. It does this during startup, so you’ll regularly want to run HeadsUp while connected to the Internet. You can open the Registration tab to see when it’s due for a checkup.

Wait! I still have questions!
