Working with Defaults

HeadsUp has two sets of default settings, FPS and Categories.

FPS

FPS is straight forward: this is the Frames Per Second value that newly imported Cuelists will default to, as well as what LTC input will default to when starting a new show.

If you work primarily with one type of FPS, you’ll want to set that here.

Categories

Default Categories are a real powerhouse.

On import, HeadsUp will detect the colors used in a Cuelist and create Categories for each color. If you always use the same Categories for your shows, you can set their names and colors as Default Categories. HeadsUp will then set their name automatically on import, saving you from having to type it over and over again.

You can change the name and color of a Default Category just as you would for a regular Category. Changing the name and the color of a Default Category will affect all Categories and Cues currently assigned to that Default Category.

To add a new Default Category, hit the Add button in the top of the tab. Hit the red X to the right to remove it.

Tip! To revert to the default set of Default Categories, aka the gold standard of Defaults, delete the defaults.xml file from Documents/HeadsUp/preferences

Wait! I still have questions!
